"Brag of your country.  When I am abroad, I brag of everything
Nova Scotia is, has or can produce and when they beat me at
everything else, I say, 'How high do your tides rise?'"
                                                              Joseph Howe
Accepting Howe's admonition, the Heroes of Hants County Association unabashedly brags about all things Hants--especially it's "Heroes".  The Association has sought to identify people who are historically significant within our county (and is some cases beyond), tell their story and give them the recognition they so rightly deserve.  Some are well known, some unknown, but all deserve a place here.  In so doing we hope to:

  -  create a cultural awareness
  -  develop a strong community identity
  -  preserve our past
  -  inspire our future
  -  promote tourism within Hants County

Take some time and browse this website.  Acquaint yourself with some of the notable heroes who have called Hants County "home".  If you have a favourite, then, vote: Click Here.  The results of the Association's online survey will be published in December of 2010.
